Develop your engineering skills as a Mechanical Design Lead with NOVA | Biotech Society in a hybrid role based in Montréal. This unpaid student position focuses on innovative biomedical projects and teamwork. NOVA | Biotech Society is seeking a student with a strong interest in mechanical engineering, robotics, or biomedical fields. As the Mechanical Design Lead, you will oversee the mechanical design team, supporting the creation of a robotic exoskeleton to aid individuals during prostration. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary members, guiding project tasks and enhancing your leadership capabilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the mechanical design team efforts
- Define technical requirements and design objectives
- Review CAD models and mechanical concepts thoroughly
- Support prototyping, testing, and integration processes
- Foster a collaborative and respectful team environment
- Background in mechanical or biomedical engineering
- Experience with CAD tools like SolidWorks or CATIA
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Initiative and motivation to contribute effectively
- Previous experience in project or design teams is a plus
