Freelance data entry professionals are required to support the migration and standardization of historical content rights data into a centralized digital repository. The role involves high?volume, accuracy?critical data entry, validation, and normalization based on predefined business rules, metadata standards, and prescribed naming conventions.

Work includes reviewing and interpreting structured and semi?structured source materials (e.g., spreadsheets, legacy databases, contracts in PDF format), extracting relevant rights information, standardizing values to conform to required naming conventions, and entering the normalized data into a database or rights management system. The role requires consistent application of formatting rules, controlled vocabularies, and naming standards, as well as identification of discrepancies, inconsistencies, or missing information.

This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow detailed documentation, and comfort working with repetitive tasks involving legally sensitive metadata. Work is performed independently with periodic quality reviews and escalation of ambiguous or non?standard cases.

• Review and interpret historical rights data from multiple source formats, including spreadsheets, databases, and PDF documents.
• Extract, validate, and enter rights-related metadata into a centralized repository according to established standards and workflows.
• Standardize data fields to comply with prescribed naming conventions, formatting standards, and controlled vocabularies.
• Perform data normalization and cleanup activities to improve consistency and usability of records.
• Identify and correct data inconsistencies, duplication, formatting issues, and incomplete records where appropriate.
• Flag ambiguous, conflicting, or missing information for escalation and resolution.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail across large volumes of records.
• Adhere to quality assurance procedures and confidentiality requirements when handling contractual and rights-related information.
• Meet established productivity, accuracy, and quality targets throughout the duration of the project.

• Experience working with rights, licensing, media metadata, and content management systems, specifically IBMS, is a key requirement.

• Previous experience in data entry, data migration, records management, data quality, or related administrative roles.
• Strong attention to detail and demonstrated commitment to accuracy and consistency.
• Proven ability to follow detailed procedures, business rules, and documentation.
• Experience applying naming conventions, formatting standards, and data governance requirements within structured datasets.
• Proficiency working with spreadsheets and database-style applications.
• Ability to interpret information from multiple sources and apply standardized rules to ensure data consistency.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage large volumes of work independently.
• Sound judgment in identifying data anomalies, discrepancies, and exceptions requiring escalation.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
