Role: Application Architect
Location: Toronto, Canada (Hybrid)
Experience Range: 10+ Years
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
- 12-15+ years of IT experience with 7-10+ years in cloud and application architecture roles.
- Proven leadership of enterprise-scale cloud migration and modernization programs.
- Deep experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP (multi-cloud preferred).
- Strong background in application architecture, distributed systems, and integration.
- Experience operating at Lead Architect capacity.
Technical Skills
- Cloud platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP)
- Containers & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Serverless and PaaS services
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM, CloudFormation)
- CI/CD and DevOps practices
- Security architecture and Zero Trust
- Observability, monitoring, and resilience engineering
Roles & Responsibilities
- Own and define enterprise application migration and modernization strategies across multiple portfolios.
- Lead architecture decisions for re-hosting, re-platforming, re-factoring, re-architecting, and cloud-native rebuilds.
- Design and govern scalable, secure, resilient cloud-native architectures.
- Act as technical authority across cloud programs, reviewing and approving architecture designs.
- Drive adoption of microservices, container platforms, serverless, and event-driven architectures.
- Define reference architectures, standards, patterns, and guardrails.
- Partner with engineering, security, and platform teams to enforce best practices.
- Engage with senior stakeholders and executives to align technology strategy with business outcomes.
