The Western Community Services Coordinator for the United States is a key leadership role responsible for supporting Canadian Armed Forces members and their families posted to the United States by ensuring timely access to programs, services, information, and resources that promote family well-being, resilience, and community connection. As the Western regional lead for service delivery, this position provides supervision, coaching, and direction to Community Service Providers, fostering a high-performing team focused on delivering responsive, client-centered support. The Coordinator is responsible for recruitment, onboarding, training, performance support, and professional development, while ensuring consistent service delivery standards across the western region of the US.

Working closely with military stakeholders, community organizations, and U.S. based service providers, the Coordinator identifies emerging community needs, facilitates access to supports, and strengthens networks for CAF families. The role also oversees the daily operations of the Military Family Services Program, including communications, policy and procedure development, resource management, and quality assurance. Through strong leadership, collaboration, and a commitment to service excellence, the Coordinator helps build resilient, connected, and well-supported military communities abroad.

This is a remote position which can be held anywhere in Canada or the United States.

Education, Certifications and Licenses

College diploma or certificate in Social Services, Administration, Community Development or a related field AND some years of experience in social services, administration, community development or a related field

This is a remote position. The employee must reside and work from anywhere within Canada or the United States. In accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, by presenting your candidacy for this role, you confirm that you meet this criteria.

Required to occasionally work evenings and weekends to support program delivery and facilitation.

Occasional travel may be required.

This is a temporary position with an anticipated start date of September 21, 2026 and end date of December 31, 2026.

As part of the selection process, the successful candidate must successfully complete a Reliability status security screening.

The successful candidate will need to possess a bank account at a Canadian financial institution as pays are deposited to a Canadian financial institution in Canadian funds.
