Kitchen Supervisor

SSP Canada operates multiple restaurants inside the Edmonton International Airport, including: The Canadian Brewhouse, Belgian Beer Cafe, Tim Hortons, Starbucks, Boston Pizza, Tap & Pour, & Upper Crust.

This position is located in a secure airport environment and a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) is required. All candidates must be legally authorised to work in Canada and must be able to provide the necessary government-issued documentation required for airport security clearance. At SSP Canada, our Kitchen Supervisor will work closely with kitchen staff to ensure that the back-of-house runs smoothly. They are an important member of a restaurant team to ensure operations run as expected.

Responsibilities include

• Placing stock orders
• Supervise associates daily activities; assign responsibilities and provide clear/concise instructions while offering suggestions for increased productivity.
• Leading a workforce of over 10 Teammates, including training and development
• Ensure compliance of all standards and procedures relating to HACCP safety standards
• Meet or exceed Brand established food quality and plating specifications.
• Supervises and performs inventory
• Investigate and resolve service and food quality complaints.
• Monitor and maintain all quality control records including required checklists.
• Inspect food and food preparation to maintain the highest quality standards while adhering to all sanitation regulations.

Skills and Other Requirements

• Minimum 1 year experience working in a restaurant kitchen environment.
• Supervisory experience highly preferred.
• High school diploma, preferred
• Verbal and written communication is essential
• Ability to read, speak, and understand the English and French language in order to communicate with guests and take orders
• Basic mathematical skills
• Food handlers permit, as required by law
• Brand Certification, as required
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long period of time.
