Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association (EORLA), The Ottawa Hospital and the University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Applications are invited for a full-time academic surgical pathologist position available immediately. We seek candidates with fellowship training in breast or gynecologic pathology. Additional expertise in another subspecialty is strongly encouraged.
The successful candidate will join a collegial team of over 40 pathologists representing every subspecialty in anatomical pathology. Our division operates a fully subspecialized model, with an annual surgical pathology volume exceeding 120,000 cases and a high proportion of gastrointestinal, gynecologic, and breast specimens. Each pathologist participates in one or two additional subspecialties beyond their primary focus, fostering depth and breadth of expertise.
Compensation and benefits are aligned with the Uniform Minimum Level of Compensation (UMLC) for Ontario pathologists, with an annual remuneration of approximately CAD $418,000. Only candidates selected for interviews will be contacted. The position remains open until filled.
Basic Requirements
Applicants must hold an MD degree, be eligible for licensure in Ontario, and possess Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification (or equivalent board certification) in Anatomical Pathology. Successful candidates will be appointed to the University of Ottawa with opportunities for teaching, collaborative research, and academic advancement. Rank will be based on experience in accordance with university guidelines.
As a pre-condition of employment, all new EORLA employees will be required to obtain and provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check dated within six (6) months from the date of issue.

About The Division Of Diagnostic And Molecular Pathology
The Division of Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology at The Ottawa Hospital processes more than 120,000 surgical pathology specimens, 20,000 cytology specimens, 100 hospital autopsies, and 1,100 forensic autopsies annually. The division operates on a fully digital pathology platform, enabling remote sign-out and flexible work arrangements for staff pathologists. The division is further supported by a state-of-the-art molecular oncology laboratory with next-generation sequencing and other advanced platforms, which enable precision diagnostics and support clinical trials

Nous invitons les mises en candidature pour un poste de pathologiste chirurgical académique à temps plein disponible immédiatement. Nous recherchons des candidats ayant une formation postdoctorale et/ou une expérience pratique significative en pathologie mammaire ou gynécologique. Une expertise supplémentaire dans une autre sous-spécialité est fortement encouragée.
Le candidat retenu rejoindra une équipe de 40 pathologistes représentant toutes les sous-spécialités de l’anatomopathologie. Notre division fonctionne selon un modèle entièrement sous-spécialisé, avec un volume annuel de pathologie chirurgicale dépassant 120 000 cas et une forte proportion de spécimens gastro-intestinaux, gynécologiques et mammaires. Chaque pathologiste participe à une ou deux sous-spécialités supplémentaires au-delà de son domaine d'intérêt principal, favorisant la profondeur et l'étendue de l'expertise.
La rémunération et les prestations sont alignées avec le niveau minimum uniforme de rémunération (UMLC) pour les pathologistes ontariens, avec une rémunération annuelle d'environ 418 000 $ CAD. Exigences pré-requis
Les candidats doivent détenir un diplôme de médecine, être éligibles à la licence en Ontario et posséder la certification du Collège royal des médecins et chirurgiens du Canada (ou une certification équivalente) en anatomopathologie. Les candidats retenus seront nommés à l'Université d'Ottawa avec des opportunités d'enseignement, de recherche collaborative et d'avancement académique. Le classement sera basé sur l'expérience conformément aux directives de l'université.
À titre de condition pré-emploi, tout nouvel employé de l’ALREO doit soumettre un rapport de vérification d’antécédents criminels conforme, et daté de moins de six (6) mois à compter de la date d’émission.

La Division de pathologie diagnostique et moléculaire de l'Hôpital d'Ottawa traite chaque année plus de 120 000 spécimens de pathologie chirurgicale, 20 000 spécimens de cytologie, 100 autopsies hospitalières et 1 100 autopsies médico-légales. La division fonctionne sur une plateforme de pathologie entièrement numérique, permettant la connectivité à distance et des modalités de travail flexibles pour les pathologistes du personnel.
