Peel Region serves more than 1.6 million residents and approximately 240,000 businesses in Brampton, Caledon, and Mississauga and delivers a wide range of resident focused services across the Region. Rapid population growth, and commercial development have transformed what was primarily a rural area of farms and villages into a dynamic blend of urban, industrial, and residential areas. Peel is known for its large and vibrant newcomer community, with the highest percentage of racialized individuals in the GTA at 69% (2021).
