Regional Supply Chain Manager

Wakefield Canada Inc. has an excellent opportunity for a full time Regional Supply Chain Manager reporting to the VP, Supply Chain. The Regional Supply Chain Manager has overall responsibility for ensuring products are safely delivered to customers in a timely and cost-effective manner. The incumbent will be responsible for cost and quality of the distribution and transportation operations (direct Wakefield and/or third party) in a specified region, including inventory management in Wakefield and/or third party warehousing. This position partners closely with the Regional Sales Manager and sales team to ensure we are continuously meeting customer needs, and continuously improving our approach to market. In this role, you will:
  • Lead the regional Supply Chain team based portion of the Wakefield transportation/logistics function, including both Wakefield truck fleet management and 3rd party transportation providers.
  • Collaborate with the Planning team, Customer Care, Quality and other Regional Operations teams to facilitate the smooth flow of goods through Wakefield's Supply Chain.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of departmental processes and policies designed to improve customer satisfaction and/or reduce our cost to serve
  • Maintain existing and develop new relationships with 3rd party providers of Transportation and Warehousing services for Wakefield
  • Interact with all levels of the Wakefield organization to identify and implement growth priorities, address immediate business issues, and to evolve the business to meet long term objectives.
  • Partner with the other Supply Chain personnel and the Director, Distribution Operations to develop, implement, and assist in the management of broader national distribution and inventory management strategies.
  • Overall responsibility for Wakefield Health & Safety for the Transportation and Distribution team in Central Region, working closely with the Supply Chain Management team to evolving HSSE policies/procedures and to ensure a continued culture of safety amongst all Wakefield staff and third-party contractors conducting work on behalf of or for Wakefield.
  • Handle any escalated problems that arise within the Warehouse/Distribution region. Partner with Plant Engineer & Facilities Manager to continuously review facilities maintenance protocols and to identify/implement significant capital projects
  • Partner with the Manager, Procurement to ensure regional operations continue to meet evolving Wakefield quality standards
  • Participate in ongoing project teams to identify opportunities/requirements for new standard operating procedures and responsible to ensure full staff awareness and compliance with all quality processes
  • Ensure strong business continuity plan for regional operations
  • Special projects as required

  • Collaborer avec l'équipe de planification, le service à la clientèle, la qualité et d'autres équipes des opérations régionales pour faciliter la circulation fluide des marchandises tout au long de la chaîne d'approvisionnement de Wakefield.
  • Contribuer à l'amélioration continue des processus et des politiques ministériels conçus pour améliorer la satisfaction de la clientèle et / ou réduire nos coûts de service
  • Maintenir les relations existantes et développer de nouvelles relations avec les fournisseurs 3rd party de services de transport et d'entreposage pour Wakefield
  • Interagir avec tous les niveaux de l'organisation de Wakefield pour identifier et mettre en œuvre les priorités de croissance, résoudre les problèmes commerciaux immédiats et faire évoluer l'entreprise pour atteindre les objectifs à long terme.
  • Établir des partenariats avec les autres membres du personnel de la chaîne d'approvisionnement et le directeur des opérations de distribution pour élaborer, mettre en œuvre et aider à la gestion de stratégies nationales plus larges de distribution et de gestion des stocks.

  • Participer aux équipes de projet en cours pour identifier les opportunités / exigences pour les nouvelles procédures opérationnelles normalisées et responsable d'assurer la pleine sensibilisation du personnel et la conformité à tous les processus de qualité
  • Assurer un solide plan de continuité des activités pour les opérations régionales
  • Projets spéciaux, selon les besoins
