Power System Engineer at IESO
Independent Electricity System Operator
Shape the future of Ontario’s power system with IESO as a Power System Engineer. Focus on reliability and operability by evaluating connections and conducting impactful engineering studies. Join the IESO as part of the Connection Assessments team in a unionized role. You will utilize your expertise in power systems to assess new and modified connections, ensuring compliance with NERC and NPCC reliability standards. Your analytical skills will support policy development, operational plans, and technical documentation. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct engineering studies for real-time operations
- Provide technical support for compliance and operational strategies
- Assess reliability impacts of new connections
- Develop models for power system security applications
- Prepare reports recommending connection upgrades
- Professional engineering license in Ontario
- Degree in electrical engineering or related field
- 6-8 years of experience in power systems
- Knowledge of power system analysis and security modeling
- Strong technical writing skills for effective reporting
