Shipper Receiver Student (1 year contract)

Duties & Responsibilities

This job will most likely fall under NOC 14400.

• 
  

  Processes and maintains shipping and receiving documentation for parts and materials.



• 
  

  Prepares and verifies Bills of Lading, packing slips, manifests, purchase orders, and other shipping and receiving paperwork.



• 
  

  Receives, inspects, and verifies incoming parts and materials against purchase orders and documentation.



• 
  

  Enters and maintains accurate parts, inventory, shipping, and receiving records.



• 
  

  Coordinates parts availability, documentation, and shipment information with Production, Purchasing, Logistics, and Accounting.



• 
  

  Tracks incoming and outgoing parts and follows up on shortages, discrepancies, damaged materials, or documentation issues.



• 
  

  Prepares, labels, organizes, and stages parts for production, shipment, or internal distribution.



• 
  

  Reviews and resolves discrepancies between physical parts, paperwork, and system records.



• 
  

  Operates a counterbalance forklift and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently as needed.



• 
  

  Loads, unloads, sorts, and moves parts and materials manually or using material-handling equipment as required.



• 
  

  Delivers parts and materials to production and assists other departments with material movement when needed.



• 
  

  Maintains organized filing systems and ensures shipping, receiving, and parts records are accurate and up to date.



• 
  

  Assists with inventory counts, parts tracking, and inventory accuracy initiatives.



• 
  

  Coordinates with the Supervisor and Supply Chain/Logistics Manager to resolve parts, inventory, shipping, and documentation issues.



• 
  

  Maintains 5S standards and housekeeping in shipping, receiving, and parts areas.



• 
  

  Participates in continuous improvement, safety initiatives, and training.



• 
  

  Follows all health, safety, and environmental policies.



• 
  

  Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements

• 
  

  Minimum 3 years of shipping and receiving experience.



• 
  

  Minimum 2 years of counterbalance forklift operation experience.



• Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.


• 
  

  High school diploma or equivalent preferred.



• 
  

  Cross-training in door fabrication considered an asset.

  Participates in safety training and incident reporting.
