The Canadian Race Relations Foundation (CRRF) was created in 1996 to reaffirm the principles of justice and equality for all in Canada. The CRRF's mandate is to facilitate throughout Canada the development, sharing, and application of knowledge and expertise to eliminate racism and all forms of racial discrimination in Canadian society.

The Program Manager coordinates the CRRF’s projects, events, initiatives, and programs, under the direction and oversight of the Director of Strategic Programs.

Salary

$81,177-$100,772 per annum . CRRF is a unionized workplace and the position, and its salary are subject to a Collective Agreement.
CRRF offers a comprehensive benefits package, which includes three weeks of vacation, two Personal Floating Days, sick days and 4% of annual income towards RRSP plan, and life, disability, medical and dental care insurance.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Program Design: 
  • Under the guidance and oversight of the Director of Strategic Programs, design 15+ national, regional, and local concurrent events, initiatives, and programs that align with the CRRF’s mandate and strategic priorities. 
  • Conduct research to support program ideation, including policy initiatives aligned with programming, scans of complimentary and comparable initiatives, potential speakers and partners, audience mapping, trauma-informed practices, and more. 
  • Organize brainstorming sessions and liaise with other CRRF departments to gather input on program design. 
  • Identify risks and mitigation strategies and integrate contingencies in the program plan to ensure smooth delivery of programs. 
  • Develop program concepts and briefing notes, and brief the Director, Associate Director, Executive team, and the CEO to ensure program approval. 
  • Identify, build, and strengthen relationships with program partners and collaborators, including government departments (federal, provincial, and municipal), other crown corporations, charities and nonprofits, community leaders, and grassroots initiatives. 
  • Liaise with consultants to gain strategic advice on program design and report back to the team. 
 
Program Coordination and Logistics Management: 
  • Coordinate a program throughout its lifecycle, including managing pivots and time-sensitive changes using Asana and other project management tools. 
  • Lead the development of workback plans, run of show, agendas, and other program coordination documents to ensure team members are informed of the workflow. 
  • Track and update on progress towards programmatic milestones to support the Strategic Director of Programs in ensuring we are on track for program delivery. 
  • Monitor and record programmatic expenditure and liaise with the Finance Department to ensure vendors are paid. 
  • Source quotes and secure vendors while meeting internal policies and manage relationships with vendors across a variety of programs. 
  • Provide onsite programmatic support, including managing speakers, VIPs, registration processes, vendors, and more. 
 
Outreach Support: 
  • Keep abreast of issues and experts relevant to CRRF’s mandate. 
  • Utilize outreach information provided by Regional Coordinators to strengthen program delivery. 
  • Support outreach efforts of Regional Coordinators, as needed, to ensure effective programming. 
  • Assist with the creation of outreach documents for programs. 
  • Develop and maintain professional networks and relationships in this sector. 
 
Other: 
  • Create summary and post-event reports and presentations for internal and external audiences, using data derived from survey tools and other sources. 
  • Participate in conferences and present information sessions and workshops as required. 
  • Contribute to internal update reports for the ED’s office and Board. 
  • Report and manage multiple programs concurrently when the Director of Strategic Programs is away. 
  • Contribute to the implementation of CRRF’s business plan by supporting the delivery of programs and initiatives organization-wide, with the guidance of other CRRF departments. 
  • Conduct internal and external meetings in person and virtually to deliver organizational goals. 
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated commitment to anti-racism, valuing diversity, and contributions to an inclusive working and learning environment. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, a related field, and/or equivalent experience. Training in race relations, anti-racism, grant administration, community building and engagement is a definite asset, in addition to a certificate in project management. 
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience managing multiple regional and national programs and events (e.g., conferences, workshops), simultaneously using trauma-informed and community-centered practices. 
  • Knowledge and experience implementing agile project management principles, tools, and software in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. 
  • Ability to brief the senior leadership team on programs clearly and concisely. 
  • Ability to communicate complex program workback plans to colleagues. 
  • Ability to independently resolve issues, innovate and find creative solutions to challenges, while working within constraints and meeting organizational needs.  
  • Training in race relations, anti-racism, grant administration, community building, and engagement is a definite asset. 
  • Experience working in a government or crown corporation environment is an asset. 
  • Ability to define and communicate program objectives, strategy, and key performance indicators in a clear and concise manner. 
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills. 
  • Ability to adjust to changing organizational needs and communicate/manage expectations. 
  • Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task effectively. 
  • Strong ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to work under stress and conflicting timelines, when necessary. 
  • Ability to manage budgets and ensure compliance with CRRF policies.  
  • Proficiency in French is an asset.

Responsabilités  

Conception stratégique des programmes  

  • Sous la direction et la supervision de la directrice ou du directeur des programmes stratégiques, concevoir simultanément plus de 15 événements, initiatives et programmes nationaux, régionaux et locaux qui s'alignent avec la mission et les priorités stratégiques de la FCRR. 
  • Effectuer des recherches pour soutenir l'idéation du programme, y compris : des initiatives politiques alignées sur la programmation ; les initiatives complémentaires et comparables ; les conférenciers et partenaires potentiels ; la répartition de l'audience ; les pratiques tenant compte des traumatismes, etc. 
  • Organiser des séances de réflexion et assurer la liaison avec d'autres services de la FCRR pour recueillir des informations sur la conception des programmes. 
  • Identifier les risques et les stratégies d'atténuation, et intégrer les imprévus dans le plan du programme afin d'en assurer la bonne exécution. 
  • Élaborer des concepts de programme et des notes d'information, et informer la directrice ou le directeur, la directrice adjointe ou le directeur adjoint, l'équipe de direction et le PDG afin d'assurer l'approbation du programme.  
  • Identifier, établir et renforcer les relations avec les partenaires et les collaborateurs du programme, y compris les services gouvernementaux (fédéraux, provinciaux et municipaux), les autres sociétés d'État, les organismes caritatifs et sans but lucratif, les dirigeants communautaires et les initiatives locales. 
  • ​​​​​​​Assurer la liaison avec des consultants pour obtenir des conseils stratégiques sur la conception du programme et en rendre compte à l'équipe. 
 

Coordination du programme et gestion de la logistique  

  • Coordonner un programme tout au long de son cycle de vie, y compris la gestion des tournants et des modifications urgentes à l'aide d'Asana et d'autres outils de gestion de projet.
  • Diriger l'élaboration de plans de travail, de présentations, d'ordres du jour et d'autres documents de coordination de programme pour s'assurer que les membres de l'équipe sont informés du déroulement des opérations.
  • Suivre et mettre à jour l'avancement des étapes du programme afin d'aider la directrice ou le directeur des programmes stratégiques à s'assurer que nous sommes sur la bonne voie pour la réalisation de celui-ci.
  • Contrôler et enregistrer les dépenses du programme et assurer la liaison avec le département des finances pour veiller à ce que les fournisseurs soient payés.
  • Obtenir des devis et trouver des fournisseurs tout en respectant les politiques internes, et gérer les relations avec les fournisseurs dans le cadre de divers programmes.
  • Fournir un soutien sur place en ce qui concerne les programmes, y compris la gestion des conférenciers, des VIP, des processus d'inscription, des fournisseurs, etc.


Soutien à la sensibilisation 

  • Se tenir au courant des questions et des experts en rapport avec le mandat de la FCRR.
  • Utiliser les informations de sensibilisation fournies par les coordonnatrices régionales ou coordinateurs régionaux pour optimiser la mise en œuvre des programmes.
  • Si nécessaire, soutenir les efforts de sensibilisation des coordonnatrices régionales ou coordinateurs régionaux pour assurer une programmation efficace.
  • Aider à la création de documents de sensibilisation pour les programmes.
  • Développer et entretenir des réseaux et des relations professionnelles dans ce secteur.

Divers 

  • Créer des rapports de synthèse et des présentations de post-événement pour des publics internes et externes, en utilisant des données dérivées d'outils de sondage et d'autres sources.
  • Participer à des conférences et présenter des séances d'information et des ateliers, le cas échéant.
  • Contribuer aux rapports de mise à jour internes destinés au bureau de la directrice générale ou du directeur général et au conseil d'administration.
  • Soumettre des rapports et gérer plusieurs programmes simultanément dans l’absence de la directrice ou du directeur des programmes stratégiques.
  • Contribuer à la mise en œuvre du plan d'affaires de la FCRR en soutenant la prestation de programmes et d'initiatives à l'échelle de l'organisme, avec le soutien d'autres services de la FCRR.
  • Organiser des réunions internes et externes, en présentiel et virtuellement, afin d'atteindre les objectifs de l'organisme.

Qualifications   ​​​​​​​

  • Engagement manifeste dans la lutte contre le racisme, la valorisation de la diversité et la contribution à un environnement de travail et d'apprentissage ouvert à tous.
  • Baccalauréat en sciences sociales, dans un domaine connexe, et/ou expérience équivalente. Une formation en relations raciales, en lutte contre le racisme, en administration des subventions, en développement et en engagement des communautés est un atout indéniable, en plus d'un certificat en gestion de projet.
  • Un minimum de trois ans d'expérience dans la gestion simultanée de plusieurs programmes et événements régionaux et nationaux (tels que des conférences, des ateliers) en utilisant des pratiques tenant compte des traumatismes et qui sont centrées sur la communauté.
  • Connaissance et expérience de la mise en œuvre de principes, d'outils et de logiciels de gestion de projets agiles dans un environnement dynamique et en évolution rapide.
  • Capacité à informer l'équipe de direction sur les programmes de manière claire et concise.
  • Capacité à communiquer à des collègues des plans de travail complexes pour les programmes.
  • Capacité à résoudre des problèmes de manière indépendante, à innover et à trouver des solutions créatives à un défi, tout en travaillant dans le respect des contraintes et en répondant aux besoins de l'organisme. 
  • Une formation en relations interraciales, en lutte contre le racisme, en administration des subventions, en renforcement des communautés et en engagement est un atout indéniable. 
  • Une expérience de travail au sein d'un gouvernement ou d'une société d'État est un atout.
  • Capacité à définir et à communiquer les objectifs du programme, la stratégie et les principaux indicateurs de performance de façon claire et concise.
  • Solides compétences en matière de relations interpersonnelles et de collaboration.
  • Capacité à s'adapter à l'évolution des besoins de l'organisme et à communiquer/gérer les attentes.
  • Souci du détail et capacité à effectuer plusieurs tâches simultanément.
  • Forte capacité à établir des priorités et à respecter les délais.
  • Capable de travailler sous stress et dans des délais contradictoires, si nécessaire.
  • Capacité à gérer des budgets et à assurer la conformité avec les politiques de la FCRR.
  • La maîtrise du français est un atout.
