Cloud Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the onboarding and infrastructure setup for Grid and Token Pipeline on the new GCP Foundation.
• Define and implement Terraform-based IaC strategy for provisioning GCP resources:
• Grid: Managed Instance Groups (MIG), Instance Templates (GCE-IT), Health Check templates, Autoscaler templates, GCS buckets, Spanner DB, Pub/Sub.
• Token Pipeline: GCS buckets, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Dataflow.
• Establish modular Terraform architecture for reusable components and enforce best practices for state management and versioning.
• Design and oversee CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment of:
• Secondbake image for PyGrid and RiskWatch installation/configuration.
• PyGrid and Token Pipeline workloads on GCP.
• Define high-availability and autoscaling strategies for compute workloads using MIG and health checks.
• Ensure security and compliance by integrating IAM policies, service accounts, and encryption standards.
• Update and maintain onboarding procedures, operational runbooks, and architecture documentation.
• Lead Client Zero testing and performance validation for migrated workloads.
• Act as a technical advisor for GCP architecture, Terraform automation, and cloud-native design patterns.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years in cloud architecture and operations, with at least 5 years on GCP.
• Expert-level proficiency in Terraform (modules, workspaces, state management, remote backends).
• Strong knowledge of GCP services: Compute Engine, Managed Instance Groups, Autoscaler, GCS, Spanner, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Dataflow.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar).
• Strong grasp of networking, IAM, and security best practices in GCP.
• Proven ability to design for scalability, reliability, and cost optimization.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• GCP Professional Cloud Architect certification.
• Experience with distributed systems like PyGrid and RiskWatch.
• Familiarity with data engineering pipelines and event-driven architectures.
