Position Overview

The Senior DevOps/Cloud Engineer – Mobile Apps is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure and DevOps solutions supporting a digital credential/mobile wallet platform. The role focuses on Azure cloud architecture, Kubernetes operations, mobile application deployment automation, DevSecOps practices, infrastructure-as-code, observability, and compliance with digital identity trust frameworks.

This position works closely with architects, mobile developers, cybersecurity teams, product owners, and enterprise stakeholders to ensure reliable delivery of mobile wallet applications and backend services across multiple environments.

Key Responsibilities

Mobile Wallet Deployment & App Store Management – 30%

• Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for mobile wallet applications and backend services using Azure DevOps, Fastlane, BrowserStack, Codemagic, and related tools.
  
• Automate application signing, versioning, testing, artifact management, and deployment processes.
  
• Manage the publication and lifecycle of wallet applications in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
  
• Coordinate release readiness, testing cycles, staged rollouts, and production deployments.
  
• Monitor application health, adoption, crash analytics, and release performance.
  
• Design and implement app attestation infrastructure using Apple App Attest and Google Play Integrity API.
  
• Collaborate with mobile development teams to integrate attestation mechanisms and anti-tampering controls.
  
• Implement and support push notification services using Firebase and related technologies.
  

DevSecOps & CI/CD Engineering – 30%

• Design, implement, and optimize enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines supporting mobile and backend services.
  
• Integrate security controls throughout the software development lifecycle.
  
• Implement DevSecOps practices including:
  
• SAST and DAST scanning
  
• Container image scanning
  
• Secret detection and management
  
• Dependency auditing
  
• Vulnerability remediation
  
• Manage secure infrastructure configurations, encryption policies, TLS certificate management, and certificate rotation.
  
• Support identity and access management (IAM), privileged access controls, and compliance monitoring.
  
• Conduct infrastructure hardening, patch management, and security reviews.
  
• Perform load testing and performance benchmarking using tools such as JMeter and Locust.
  
• Develop automation scripts using Python and Bash.
  

Cloud Architecture & Platform Engineering & Infrastructure as Code – 25%

• Architect, deploy, and manage secure, scalable Azure cloud infrastructure.
  
• Design and support highly available, resilient, multi-environment cloud solutions.
  
• Build and manage containerized workloads using Docker and Podman.
  
• Design, deploy, and administer Kubernetes clusters using AKS and OpenShift.
  
• Implement workload orchestration, auto-scaling, RBAC, ingress management, networking policies, and failover mechanisms.
  
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform and Ansible.
  
• Manage cloud networking components including:
  
• Azure VNETs
  
• Firewalls
  
• Ingress controllers
  
• Identity integrations
  
• Support backend services utilizing PostgreSQL, MySQL, and other relational databases.
  
• Integrate event-driven architectures, messaging platforms, caching technologies, and job scheduling systems.
  
• Apply modern cloud architecture and security best practices to ensure reliability, scalability, and compliance.
  

Observability, Monitoring & Reliability & System insights – 10%

• Design and maintain monitoring and observability platforms using:
  
• Prometheus
  
• Grafana
  
• Azure Log Analytics
  
• Integrate crash analytics solutions such as Firebase Crashlytics and Microsoft App Center.
  
• Develop dashboards, alerting frameworks, SLIs, SLOs, and health monitoring capabilities.
  
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term reliability improvements.
  
• Monitor platform performance, availability, and operational health.
  

Collaboration & Documentation & Agile Delivery – 5%

• Collaborate with architects, developers, QA teams, cybersecurity specialists, and stakeholders.
  
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, release coordination, and technical reviews.
  
• Produce and maintain:

• Troubleshooting guides
  
• Disaster recovery documentation
  
• Mentor team members in DevOps, cloud engineering, Kubernetes administration, and security best practices.
  

Required Skills & Experience

Mobile Application Delivery

• Experience deploying and managing applications in Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
  
• Knowledge of mobile CI/CD tooling including Azure DevOps, Fastlane, BrowserStack, and Codemagic.
  
• Experience with application signing, provisioning profiles, versioning, and release management.
  
• Familiarity with Apple App Attest and Google Play Integrity API.
  
• Experience implementing Firebase services and push notifications.
  

DevSecOps & Automation

• Strong experience with CI/CD pipeline development and automation.
  
• Expertise in DevSecOps practices and security integration within software delivery pipelines.
  
• Experience with vulnerability management, secrets management, and infrastructure security.
  
• Strong scripting skills using Python and Bash.
  

Cloud & Platform Engineering

• Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
  
• Strong Kubernetes administration experience using AKS and/or OpenShift.
  
• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized environments.
  
• Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and Ansible.
  
• Experience with relational databases including PostgreSQL and MySQL.
  
• Understanding of event-driven architectures and messaging platforms.
  

Security & Compliance

• Experience implementing cloud security controls and cybersecurity best practices.
  
• Knowledge of digital identity trust frameworks and standards including:

• eIDAS
  
• Experience with IAM, RBAC, encryption, network security, and compliance requirements.
  

Monitoring & Observability

• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Log Analytics, Crashlytics, and App Center.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting digital identity, credentialing, or mobile wallet platforms.
  
• Experience within government, public sector, or highly regulated environments.
