Summary: The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the movement of trucks, drivers, and freight to ensure efficient, safe, and on‑time transportation services. This includes route planning, real‑time communications, resolving logistics issues, preparing records, and supporting overall fleet efficiency.

Create daily, weekly, and urgent delivery schedules.
Coordinate load planning, shipment consolidation, and freight scheduling.
Verify driver availability, equipment readiness, required documentation, and compliance requirements for daily operations.
Adjust routes and schedules to accommodate urgent shipments, service disruptions, and other unforeseen events.
Serve as the primary point of contact for transportation-related inquiries.
Provide shipment and delivery status updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
Maintain communication with customers regarding service issues, shipment concerns, and delivery changes.
Handle customer complaints and escalate issues when necessary.
Coordinate with warehouses, carriers, brokers, and customers to ensure uninterrupted service.
Ensure drivers comply with transportation regulations, hours-of-service requirements, safety standards, and company policies.
Support transportation safety initiatives and regulatory compliance.
Maintain records required for audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
Prepare and process shipping documents, bills of lading, manifests, delivery records, and proof of delivery (POD) documentation.
Maintain dispatch logs, transportation records, and accurate data entry in transportation, warehouse, and customer systems.
Update internal systems and customer portals with shipment information.
Verify trip details, mileage, fuel consumption, accessorial charges, and broker invoices; Monitor vehicle availability, utilization, and performance.
Arrange replacement equipment or vehicles when assets are unavailable.
Report vehicle and equipment performance issues to appropriate stakeholders.

Experience in trucking, logistics, or dispatching roles.
Additional training or certifications in transportation or logistics.

Office and warehouse-based work environment.
May require shift work including evenings, weekends, or holidays.
Frequent communication via phone, emails, and dispatch software.

Salary Range: $25.50 - $32.12 CAD/Hour
