Role: Bilingual Academic Facilitator (Portuguese/English)
Contract Duration: Hours: Part-time (up to 30 hours per week)
The Bilingual Academic Facilitator plays a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery and success of ILSCs professional development program for international educators. Working closely with the Program Manager the facilitator provides linguistic and operational support to a group of visiting Brazilian educators during their three-week training in Toronto.
Facilitators act as a bridge between participants instructors and the ILSC team ensuring that participants feel supported and guided throughout their experience.
The Bilingual Academic Facilitator role is a part-time fixed-term position. Due to the nature of the program work hours may vary and may include weekends or evenings depending on scheduled visits and activities.
Contract Period: Pre-program orientation and training: February 6 2026 (online or on-site TBD)
Accompany and supervise program participants during on-campus sessions and off-site educational visits.
Translate program content and interactions between participants and instructors as needed (English/Portuguese).
Academic and Operational Support
Assist the Program Manager with day-to-day administrative tasks such as attendance tracking material distribution schedule coordination and report preparation.
Support facilitators and instructors in setting up classrooms technology and materials for daily sessions.
Demonstrate strong knowledge of the program content objectives and daily schedule.
Act as a liaison between participants the ILSC academic team and partner institutions.
Support external visits to educational institutions government offices and community partners providing translation and coordination assistance.
Bilingual proficiency in Portuguese and English (oral and written)
Experience working in an educational training or international program setting
Flexibility to work variable hours including occasional evenings or weekends
Experience in translation or interpretation (English/ Portuguese)
Previous experience supporting international visitors or educational delegations
