Full-time team members start with:

The Facility Director will directly support the Cambridge Chaplin Family YMCA and the Guelph YMCA. This position is fully on-site. This role provides both strategic and day‑to‑day leadership across two buildings, overseeing facility operations, maintenance, contract management, and projects.
Reporting to the Manager, Growth and Sustainability, the Facility Director ensures our facilities are well maintained, safe, welcoming, and operating at a high standard of excellence. In stewarding our spaces with care and intention, the Facility Director helps support our programs and the people we serve by creating positive experiences that attract and retain our members.
Lead facility operations—develop, implement, and continuously improve procedures and processes so facilities are safe, welcoming, and operating optimally.
Provide strong people leadership to two Building Technicians through meaningful check-ins and ongoing coaching—fostering service excellence, accountability, and teamwork and ongoing coaching—fostering service excellence, accountability, and teamwork.
Collaborate proactively with key partners, including Building Technicians, Operational Leads, and senior leaders to ensure alignment and exceptional service delivery.
Manage budgets and contracts-develop and monitor annual facility budgets; Own all maintenance and projects. act as point person or project manager (as scope requires) and liaise with internal and external partners.
Build strong partnerships with service partners and contractors to keep facilities running effectively and create seamless operations across programs.
Manage pool related facility needs, including pool shutdowns, in close partnership with Aquatic Supervisors and other leaders.
Be on call to provide support and leadership for facility related issues and emergencies to provide support and leadership for facility related issues and emergencies.
Collaborate on long term refurbishment plan and support sustainability initiatives
Health & Safety Champion — serve as the Certified Management Representative for Health & Wellness, ensure respirator standards, manage time sensitive building concerns
Maintain compliance and mitigate risk so buildings, equipment, and grounds are safe, functional, and meet regulatory requirements.
3–4 years of supervisory experience in property management, facility operations, or related fields.

- You are skilled at working through challenges by assessing available information and developing and implementing practical solutions, even as details shift or emerge.
- Proven administrative skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) designation is an asset.
- This role requires regular travel, which may not always be easily accessible through public transit. The employee must be able to arrange their transportation to these sites. A valid G driver’s license and full-time vehicle access are strongly recommended.
