Must have a valid Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License with access to a vehicle
Must be able to work in an outdoor rough terrain environment in both winter and summer in extreme temperatures
Must be physically capable of performing the duties and functions of the job including working at outdoor work sites, in confined spaces and extreme heights, and carrying out physical activities such as standing, sitting, walking, climbing, twisting, slip-trip-fall, lifting and carrying (0-22 lbs)
Must be able to travel throughout by ground and air transportation and be away from home for extended periods.
Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or equivalency recognized by Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba.
Extensive experience in at least one of the following: water resources, geotechnical and/or structural engineering design for dams and water control structures.
Extensive experience in dam safety and the application of Canadian Dam Association Guidelines, including Dam Safety Reviews.
Experience with condition assessments of dams and water control / flood control infrastructure.
Experience in project management including planning, design, environmental mitigation and approvals, and maintenance of dams and flood control infrastructure.
Duties: The Dam Safety Engineer provides specialized engineering services encompassing inspection, condition assessments, safety infrastructure, emergency response, investigations, monitoring, planning input, analysis and design for Provincial dams and water control / flood control infrastructure.
