Logistics Manager

Objective

The Logistics Manager to oversee planning, coordination, and execution of logistics operations for the company. The individual will be responsible for ensuring materials and personnel are delivered to job sites efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate deliveries of materials at the job sites.
• Manage inventory levels and maintain accurate records in transit and on site.
• Direct all logistics to ensure prompt delivery of products to end user.
• Transportation vendors, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance.
• Ensure compliance with Ontario transportation laws, safety regulations, and Ministry of Labor guidelines.
• Develop logistics plans and contingency strategies for changing site conditions and project phases.
• Track product, resolve delivery issues, and update stakeholders on logistics status.
• Coordinate with the operation team for material handling, storage, and distribution.
• Oversee loading/unloading and implement safety protocols on job sites.
• Maintain documentation for audits, regulatory inspections, internal reporting, and produce monthly reports.
• Adhere to budget re: annually, costing, and targets.
• Work cross functionally to improve coordination between logistics, procurement, and customer service.
• Supervise all preventative maintenance measures including pre/post trip inspections to ensure minimum downtime.

Qualifications:

• College/University preferred 5+ years of experience in logistics, preferably in the construction industry, Aggregate and dispatch experience would be ideal.
• Certification in logistics, supply chain, or construction management is preferred.
• Computer proficient (Microsoft Office, Excel).
• Strong knowledge of Ontario’s transportation and workplace safety regulations (e.g., OHSA, CVOR, WSIB).
• Proven ability to manage multiple jobs, logistics operations and Independent Haulers simultaneously.
• Experience with construction scheduling software and ERP systems is an asset (future implementation).
• Valid Ontario driver's license; DZ or AZ license and asset.
• Monday to Friday – 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Saturdays can be requested – 6:00 am to 2:00 pm.
• Additional hours as per requirements, urgent matters, or to attend meetings/special functions (evenings/weekends).
• Available to work during all company operating hours. Primarily based at head office, some travel to other sites.
• Work involves outdoor site visits, on occasion off hours.
