As a Senior Electrical Estimator, you will prepare accurate cost estimates and bid documentation for a wide range of electrical construction projects. You’ll work closely with suppliers, clients, subcontractors, and the Chief Estimator to develop competitive pricing strategies and ensure estimates meet organizational standards at all project stages—from conceptual and schematic design through tender and construction.
You’ll review design documents, perform detailed take-offs, assess project risks, and prepare final proposals. This position also includes mentoring junior estimators, maintaining estimating software and pricing databases, and representing the company professionally during meetings and site walkthroughs.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Certified Engineering Technologist, 309A Electrical License, or Electrical Certificate of Qualification preferred (Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.)
Minimum 6 years of experience estimating electrical construction projects (industrial, commercial, institutional)
Strong ability to estimate diverse project types and prepare complex proposals with minimal supervision
Proficiency in estimating and quantity take-off software, including BlueBeam, Accubid, and Live Count
Solid knowledge of procurement procedures, accounting practices, and project administration
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Ability to collaborate with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
Perform pre‑bid risk assessments and develop installation strategies
Conduct detailed take-offs and organize quantities in estimating software
Prepare material, labour, equipment, and job cost calculations
Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes for compliance and suitability
