Staff RN - 1* PFT (75.00 Hours bi-weekly).*
The day-to-day duties of the Regular Registered Nurse will include but are not limited to: assessing clients to establish their state of health and wellness, identifying nursing diagnosis based on client assessment and analysis of all relevant data/information; developing and implementing the nursing component of the client's plan of care, coordinating client care in collaboration with other health care disciplines; monitoring and adjusting the plan of care based on client responses; evaluating the client's outcomes, provide leadership and education as needed and such other roles, functions and accountabilities within the scope of practice of the profession which support client safety and quality care in line with the Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses.

Uses critical inquiry to assess, plan, intervene, monitor and evaluate client care and related services.
Demonstrates cultural competence and promotes culturally safe environments for members of the healthcare team and the public.
Maintains the confidentiality of client and health information gained in the context of a professional relationship and discloses this information (outside of the healthcare team) only with a client's consent or when there is a specific ethical or legal obligation to do so.
Coordinates resources to promote quality care (e.g., Participates in and supports the development and implementation of policies to ensure that clients' rights are respected.
Respects clients' experiences and perspectives and works to optimize clients' central role in the care process.
Recognizes and addresses violations of practice, legal and ethical obligations by self or others in a timely and appropriate manner.
Reports to employers and/or appropriate regulatory body concerns related to incompetence, professional misconduct, conduct unbecoming the profession, and/or incapacity of registered nurses and/or other healthcare providers.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a graduate of an approved School of Nursing, currently licensed (or eligibility for licensing) and in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia. Strong leadership abilities with a minimum of two years nursing experience. Knowledgeable and experienced in areas of client care practices, as related to persons with intellectual and physical disabilities, psycho geriatrics and behavioral challenges. MS Office including: (Word, Access, Excel), Outlook Email, Adobe Pro, Internet, scheduling software, Avanti, SURGE, ProSafe, etc. Continuing Care experience is preferred. Demonstrated commitment to the organization's strategic direction and to the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD).
