At Aramark, we care about your health, so we have production guidelines and safety procedures in place to help you do what you love. This is a full-time, permanent role with a Monday to Friday day-time schedule.
In conjunction with the Food Services Manager, the Sous Chef will plan, direct and guide culinary team in the execution of daily food service in a manner that meets/exceeds operational and financial targets, working alongside front line staff when necessary
Leads and monitors Cooks and Food Service Workers’ adherence to all Aramark operating standards and legislated standards within the component including company policy and procedure
Assists with onboarding, coaching and developing culinary staff
Assist with weekly inventory and product ordering
Standardizes production recipes to ensure consistent quality
Cooks and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
Remain compliant with regards to all OH&S policies, procedures and required activities (i.e. updated safety boards, inventory on First Aid Kits, proper chemical handling, monthly safety talks etc.)
At Aramark, developing new skills and doing what it takes to get the job done make a positive impact for our employees and for our customers. Journeyman or Red Seal Certification in the Cook trade or equivalent preferred
- Valid WHMIS and Food Safe (Basic or Advanced), First Aid Certification is an asset
- Knowledge of and commitment to upholding high standards of food safety and hygiene
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine desire to provide outstanding customer service
- This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00.
