Foundation Health Job Description
Personal Support Workers (PSWs) provide care to individuals who need assistance as they deal with the effects of aging, injury, surgery, or illness.
Please note that this position is for agency staffing support and home care services.
Assisting clients with personal care such as bathing and dressing
Providing companionship
Providing respite while the primary caregiver is out of the home
Being a part of the client's total care program
This role will be direct in clients home or at a care facility
Valid Personal Support Worker Certificate from a Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities or the Ministry of Education approved program
RN/RPN, Paramedic, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy student with a minimum successful completion of year one of the program
Holds a valid certificate as a Home Support Worker (level II or III), Health Care Aide, or Personal Attendant
Holds a valid certificate as a Developmental Support Worker
Internationally licensed Nurse, Midwife or Physician
The position may require daily travel of more than 30 minutes, so 100% must have a vehicle. Valid G2/G driver's license and access to a reliable car
Physical ability to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel and reach, ability to lift 50lbs (23 kg) independently, ability to assist clients with standing, walking, and sitting; Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR
Updated immunization records (including completion of a two-step tuberculosis test within the last 6 months)
Proficient verbal and written English communication skills
Ability to use phone applications
Submission of proof of three COVID vaccinations
TB test completed within 6 months to a year
Immunization record
Up-to-date CPR and First Aid certification
