Payroll Clerk - Full Time

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the timely processing of payroll for both union and non-union team members.

Processes payrolls for union and non-union employees according to established schedules.
Reviews applicable policies and documentations and ensures thorough understanding of all pay elements for non-unionized team members.
Responsible for accurate processing of all payroll elements including but not limited to employee pay, payroll deductions and remittances.
Performs calculations for items including but not limited to payroll deductions and remittances.
Conducts audit of payroll records to ensure integrity and compliance with all requirements.
Assists in the identification and implementation of payroll process and systems enhancements. College diploma with 3-5 years’ of related work experience.
Knowledge of Canadian Payroll rules and regulations.
Ability to identify, investigate and resolve payroll related issues.
Ability to process a high volume of data requiring strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to communicate effectively with others for the purpose of data exchange, clarification and dispute resolution.
Proficient with payroll systems preferably Ceridian along with ability to learn new applications quickly. Proficient with MS Excel, Outlook.
Demonstrated language proficiency (both verbal and written) in English and French. Knowledge of US Payroll rules and regulations an asset.

Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification from Canadian Payroll Association (asset)

This is a regular, full-time position with a salary range of $63,397 - $79,246 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to experience, education and performance related to this role.
