Civil Site Shift Engineer

Reporting to the Vice President Operations, you are a highly motivated individual with an eye for detail, mindful of constant innovation and process improvement. A self-starter - you are detail oriented, multi-tasker, who can shift priorities and keep your eye on all the activities within your responsibility set. Manage, lead and control projects from start to finish, including staff, sub-contractors performing staff assignments and job management.
Maintain and enforce high standards for health and safety on all project sites
Financial acumen to manage a project P&L statement
Exceptional claims/extras management experience
Maximize production efficiencies and develop consistent and creative means and methods to remove barriers to productivity to increase, add value and save costs on projects.
Develop and deliver quality projects reliably, sustainably and environmentally focused
The management of the complete project lifecycle from pre-bid planning, operations planning, submittal documentation, daily work efforts, billing /payment certificates and project closeout.
Develop plans to maximize margins, and ensure the companies interests are foremost during the project lifecycle. Change management and cost control are routine and evident in your work.
Prepare costing and manage expenses, estimates and vendor agreements and sub trade selection.
Manage all aspects related to daily production, production issues, extra claims management and related time and material cost management
Project lifecycle management for works related to trenchless and general construction operations on multiple project.
Provide troubleshooting and issue resolution, often taking the lead on solving these problems.
A firm understanding of complex trenchless systems and clearly articulate needs, issues and production concerns.
Educational degree in civil engineering or engineering tech,

• 10+ years construction experience in heavy civil sector. Sewer and watermain experience is an asset
• Exceptional communication skills, written, verbal, online
• Exceptional claims/extras management experience
• Demonstrated experience in cost savings on project delivery
• Demonstrated experience developing customer focused client relationships
• Keen sense of foresight and versatility and a track record for creative problem solving
