Part-time Elementary Physical Education Teacher

Position Description A temporary part time (0.4032) Elementary PE Prep Teacher is required by School District No. The assignment will be at Margaret Ma Murray Community School.
Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligible for)
Committed to a co-planning model within a learning "pod" of three to four divisions
Willingness to share space and resources in a learning "pod" of three to fur divisions within a flexible learning space environment
Experience/training/knowledge of Social Emotional Learning. Demonstrated ability to create a positive classroom community contributing to a safe, caring, and healthy school where every student feels a sense of belonging
Strong belief in the philosophy of inclusion and the potential of all students to learn
Understanding of the BC Curriculum and ability to plan both short-term and long-term in consideration of class composition
Willingness to work in a collaborative model with staff on the foundation of enhancing student learning
Experience in and commitment to offering a personalized learning education program as outlined in the attached information sheet
Experience teaching in a multi-aged classroom
Computer related skills and the ability to incorporate ibooks into regular classroom instruction
Committed to individualized and group instruction utilizing a variety of effective strategies and techniques

Willingness to work in a collaborative model with staff regarding curriculum, assessment, instruction and planning
Working knowledge of Criterion Based Referencing Assessment and Performance
Based Assessment, Balanced Literacy, and blended/structured writing

Margaret Ma Murray Community School was designed and built to facilitate a distinct learning environment. This process involved visitations to schools around the country, community consultation meetings and several design meetings with a cross-section of staff from around the district. These conversations on learning and learning spaces helped shape the architecture of the school.

- $3,035 recruitment allowance (paid over 10 months of the school year, based on the FTE)
