YOUTH CARE WORKER
There is a position available for a Youth Care Worker at Ecole Central Elementary School. All Applications must be completed online and will be accepted until 12:00 pm noon, April 17, 2026. Please note that preference will be given to French speaking applicants .
Reporting to the site Administrative Officer(s), this position is responsible for working in collaboration with the classroom teacher or school counsellor and various district resource personnel in providing services to students having difficulties coping as a result of social/emotional or mental health problems. per day, one (1) days per week - Mondday
Duties to Commence : As soon as possible after closing
Assists the teacher/counsellor in the development, implementation, and evaluation of individual and group life skills, social skills, self-esteem, and behaviour management programs in school and community settings.
- Transport identified students to services and visit homes to provide support, on a limited basis.
- Consult with other professionals in the community and promote inter-agency cooperation.
- Assumes other responsibilities that are site and program specific.
- Minimum of two years of university or college course work in areas relating to youth care and counselling;
Training in Crisis Prevention Intervention; (Coaching, working with youth, with diagnosed behaviour or mental health disorders (i.e. C. drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle;
Food Safe
WHMIS Certificate and other online safety training provided by the District to be completed within the probationary period
Must be able to pass a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Search conducted by the District prior to staring employment
Proof of graduation and/or highest level of education is required prior to starting position
