Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor the position performs a variety of sewing functions. These duties include but are not limited to reading specs, sewing filter bags according to the specification sheets, and examining filter bags to ensure they meet Albarrie quality standards. This is a pipeline role designed to identify candidates for future openings. Reviews and interprets specification sheets and engineer drawings prior to performing sewing tasks. Adheres to Albarrie’s Code of Conduct and Health & Safety guidelines, including proper use of safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE). Reports any concerns or irregularities to the Supervisor and/or Quality Inspectors. Reports any issues to the Supervisor and /or Quality inspectors. Operates single, double or multi-needle serging, banding and other sewing machines, to join sections of filter bags. Inspects filter bags upon completion to ensure they meet Albarrie quality standards. Prepares rush orders for customers as prioritized by the Sewing Team Leader or Plant Supervisor. Documents actions by completing production, quality, and machine maintenance logs on a daily basis. Maintains complete knowledge of and complies with company and departmental policies, procedures and standards. Maintains a positive working relationship with team members and management in a team environment. Able to learn multiple sewing function and move to different areas of the sewing operation as required. Proficient in basic measuring techniques Basic knowledge of industrial fabrics and industrial sewing machines Experience using a computer and an ERP system to scan in and out of work orders.
