Part-time Caregiver/Companion for Senior
$24 per hourPart-time
We are looking for two compassionate, dependable, and reliable caregivers to support our Dad in his home.
Our Dad is over 6 feet tall, is hard of hearing, and is unsteady on his feet. Applicants must be physically able to safely assist a tall adult with mobility and transfers, and should have previous experience providing hands-on support to seniors in a home or caregiving setting. We are seeking individuals who are patient, attentive, respectful, and committed to maintaining his dignity, comfort, and overall wellbeing.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Mobility assistance and safe transfers.
- Personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Meal preparation and support with simple daily nutrition needs.
- Light housekeeping and helping to keep the home tidy and organized.
- Companionship and providing friendly, supportive social interaction.
- Monitoring safety, comfort, and overall wellbeing throughout the day.
- Experience with urinary catheter care is an asset.
SPLIT SHIFTS:
- 9:00 am -- 1:00 pm, 7 days/week
- 8:00 pm -- 10:00 pm, 7 days/week
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous care-giving experience, preferably with seniors.
- Experience providing safe mobility, assistance, and transfers.
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle (our home is in a rural area, and is not accessible by public transit).
- Professional references required.
