Engineer systems, system engineer

DV8 Energy is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Systems Engineer to support and advance our product growth in production, automation, and oil and gas solutions. This role combines hardware, software and oil and gas engineering exposure serving as a technical bridge between customers, field technologists, and internal engineering, with a strong focus on Pump Off Controllers (POC), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and cloud-based production optimization tools.

Responsibilities

Act as a primary technical point of contact for DV8 Energy Field Technologists and Customers, supporting both production and automation initiatives in the oilfield
Provide expert solution guidance on DV8 Energy’s Pump Off Controller (POC) and VFD technologies to enterprise customers
Conduct on-site and in-person training for customers and internal staff on DV8’s POC, VFD, and related technologies
Serve as a subject matter expert on DV8 Energy’s cloud solutions, guiding customers in effective system usage and optimization
Own customer issues end-to-end, coordinating internally to drive timely and effective resolutions
Identify recurring customer challenges and design, build, or contribute to software tools and features to address them
Develop and maintain process documentation, technical manuals, and solution descriptions related to DV8’s POC and artificial lift technologies
Create schematics, drawings, and technical diagrams to clearly describe system designs and solutions

Skills

Experience working within cross-disciplinary teams to deliver measurable results
Familiarity with Linux environments
Some programming experience in C or C++
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and technical skill levels
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated by complex problem solving
Results-driven, ability to drive priorities to completion to deliver excellency in customer service

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum 1 year of hands-on engineering experience (Co-Op or internship experience accepted)

Requirements

Interest in artificial lift systems, automation, and production optimization
Comfort working in both field (10%) and office (90%) environments
Willingness to learn, innovate, and contribute beyond defined responsibilities

This is a full-time, in-person position based out of DV8 Energy’s Calgary office
Travel to customer sites may be required as part of field support and training activities
