DCS Engineer

Job Responsibility:

Key Responsibilities:

· DCS and PLC configuration:

Program DCS/PLC for brown fill projects.

Program Distributed Control Systems (DCS, Delta-V, Software rev 14 and later), Programable Logic Controllers (PLC, AB ControlLogix, Siemens and other brands) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI).

· Maintenance, Troubleshooting and Support:

Integrate process control systems with existing and new equipment.

Provide technical support for process control systems, including troubleshooting and resolving issues.

Work closely with EPC team to ensure the design is functional and safe.

Work with operations and maintenance teams to ensure smooth functioning of control systems. Conduct root cause analysis for control system failures and implement corrective actions.

· Compliance and Safety:

Ensure all process control activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.

Promote and maintain a strong safety culture within the team and on-site.

Participate in safety reviews, risk assessments, and HAZOP studies.

Qualifications:

· Education:

Bachelor's degree in Process Control, Chemical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.

· Experience and Skill requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of configuration experience in Delta-V and AB PLC within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or related industries.

Experienced in Alarm database management.

Familiar with process control strategies include advanced process control, understand related documentation including P&IDs, control narratives, Shutdown key and functional specifications.

Deep knowledge of control systems including hardware and software specifications.

Strong understanding of process control principles and techniques.

Experience with process simulation and modeling software.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team.

· Travel:

Occasionally travel to Fort McMurry is required.

· Certifications:

Delta_V related certifications are required.

Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60.00-$80.00 per hour
