Job Description
The Government of Alberta's Digital Design & Delivery (3D) Division is seeking experienced Full Stack Developers to support digital transformation initiatives across multiple government ministries. Developers will work within Agile, cross-functional teams to design, build, modernize, and support citizen-facing digital services using modern development frameworks and human-centered design principles.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain modern full-stack applications.
Participate in discovery sessions, technical research, and solution design.
Develop scalable frontend and backend solutions.
Collaborate with Product Owners, UX Designers, Architects, and Developers.
Build reusable components and shared services.
Resolve functional and non-functional defects.
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Produce technical documentation and architecture artifacts.
Support solution deployment and production releases.
Contribute to CI/CD practices and software quality improvements.
Help modernize legacy applications into digital services.
Mentor team members and support knowledge transfer.
Requirements
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years experience as a Full Stack Developer in Agile environments
- 5+ years experience using Git/source control
- 3+ years experience with automated unit and integration testing
- 3+ years experience with relational and non-relational databases
- 3+ years experience developing production applications using modern application frameworks and JavaScript frontend frameworks
