Operations Reconciliation Specialist I

We are seeking a Fund Operations Specialist to join our Fund Operations Team in Burnaby, British Columbia. Your key responsibilities will include fund accounting, net asset value calculations, and liaising with external fund administrators and custodians. There will be opportunities for you to initiate and manage projects, and to develop specialty expertise in areas such as financial reporting, tax and corporate actions should you show interest in these areas.

You will be expected to develop an in-depth understanding of how our funds work and serve our client’s needs, our counterparties and our providers. Support core team functions including security pricing, reconciliations, fee payments and fund valuations.
Support the preparation and review of annual & semi-annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Leading small and large-scale projects aimed at improving and streamlining business processes and launching new investment products.
Working closely and collaborating with IT developers to ensure that the necessary tools are available to address the risk of error and to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our processes.

Completion of the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) program or equivalent advanced training related to the role.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a public accounting firm with financial audit or tax experience, or an equivalent role in industry
however, a keen interest in the investment industry is an asset.

The total compensation package also includes a discretionary bonus.
