Therapeutic Behaviour Assistant – 1.0 FTE Elk Island Catholic Schools St. T h eresa Catholic School Sherwood Park , Alberta We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapeutic Behaviour Assistant to join our school community. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting students with complex regulation, emotional, and mental health needs. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to foster an inclusive environment rooted in the district’s vision of Catholic Education. The ideal candidate is a flexible, empathetic professional who excels at building authentic connections with students while implementing evidence-based strategies to support their social-emotional and academic growth. Salary and benefits will be as per the Unifor Union of Canada, Local 71 Collective Agreement. Implement regulation and social-emotional strategies (ISPs/RSPs) for individuals and small groups.
Partner with the Learning Support Team to monitor progress, collect behavioral data, and model strategies for staff.
Support: Provide empathetic de-escalation and sensory support during unpredictable student challenges.
Relational: Expert at building trust and rapport with high-needs students.
Flexible and calm in high-pressure or fluctuating environments
Applications submitted for this role will also be considered for future Therapeutic Behaviour Assistant positions within the district.
