Reporting to the Senior Director - Insurance and Surety, the incumbent in this position will play a key role by working closely with the Senior Director on the analysis and execution strategy, obtaining appropriate insurance at the bidding and awarded contract stages for major projects. The advisor will actively contribute to mitigating risks that could impact the sustainability of Pomerleau. This role is specifically dedicated to our major projects and will therefore suit an employee who wants to delve deep, has attention to detail, and is passionate about analysis, writing, and persuasion.
Analyze bid documents and contracts to determine if the insurance requirements requested by clients are adequate and challenge them (verbally and in writing) if they are not;
Collaborate with clients, our broker, legal team, and project team to identify solutions;
Implement insurance for major projects;
Analyze specific insurance policies once issued to ensure they align with the intended coverage;
Advise senior management on risk management strategies and insurance-related issues for major projects;
Coordinate and influence internal stakeholders, including project managers, legal, financial, and operational teams, and brokers, to assess risk exposures and develop strategies;
Supervise the timely renewal process of major project policies;
Analyze and understand corporate insurance policies (construction, wrap-up, E&O, marine, drones, automotive, equipment, etc.) to ensure they complement the project policies of major projects;
Determine insurance requirements for subcontractors on major projects;
Provide professional advice and ongoing training;
Bachelor's degree in law or business administration, or equivalent experience;
Knowledge in the construction, insurance, and/or legal field (an asset);
Proficient in both French and English, both orally and in writing;
Agile and autonomous;
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office software;
