The Ministry of Finance is responsible for oversight of government revenue, expenses, assets and liabilities. The Finance and Operations Branch, within the Corporate Services Division of the Ministry, provides financial, accounting and administrative services for the Ministry and several other associated entities.
The Finance and Operations Branch is seeking a multi-skilled individual with strong leadership, evaluation and analytical skills to be the Manager of Finance . Reporting to the Director, Finance and Operations Branch, the Manager will lead a team of four employees and is accountable for financial and accounting operations including (but not limited to):
the settlement function of the treasury management activities and transactions of the Province;
servicing, recording and reporting of public debt and sinking funds of the Province;
operations, accounting and reporting for the Municipal Financing Corporation;
accounting, financial reporting and analysis for the Ministry of Finance;
provision of financial and administrative services to external clients;
developing and monitoring internal controls designed to mitigate risk;
forecasting;
leading audit processes; and
ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, policies and applicable legislation.
Our candidate of choice will have extensive knowledge of accounting principles, practices and standards. In addition, you will have the ability to conduct in-depth research and analysis in order to anticipate changes to accounting standards, policies and legislative standards and the ability to lead the team through the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will possess an undergraduate degree in Commerce or Business Administration and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, along with supervisory experience and relevant experience with the Government of Saskatchewan. Knowledge of and experience with treasury management and banking practices will be considered an asset.
