Electrical Designer - Consulting Engineering

Our team in Canada is growing, we are currently recruiting for an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join our Minerals and Metals Business line in the Vancouver office.

Perform electrical engineering systems design, studies, investigations and analysis, technical evaluations, cost estimates, and options analysis for new equipment or modifications to existing equipment and systems.

Consult with other departments, suppliers and contractors to clarify specifications.

Help prepare technical reports, tender documentation and field support (including commissioning/site inspection).

Ensure that engineering deliverables (e.g., drawings, specifications, analysis, budget estimates) comply with applicable regulations, standards, corporate procedures and sound engineering practices.

Review drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and project documentation in accordance with QA/QC programs.

Ensure that project deliverables are met in a timely manner to a high-quality.

Recognized undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering.

• 5-8 years’ experience in design of electrical systems within Mining, Municipal, Utility, Transportation projects. Working knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code is a must, and familiarity with international standards is advantageous.
• Experience with building electrical systems, such as, fire alarms, security, lighting & communications, fibre network, and data network will be an asset.
• Familiarity with power system study software such as ETAP, SKM, or Easy Power will be an asset.
• Construction site service experience & working directly with client is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, planning and organizing abilities with excellent interpersonal skills.
