Industrial Maintenance Painter

As the Industrial Painter, you will be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of paint coating, spray booth equipment, and systems, as well as performing the cleaning, sanding, priming, and painting machine parts surfaces to ensure proper adhesion of paint and coatings designed to withstand the rugged and challenging terrain of the forestry industry.
Dedicated Afternoon Shift: 3:30pm - 2:00am, Monday – Thursday Shift Premium: $3.00 / hour for afternoons
Dedicated Weekend Shift: 6:00am - 6:00pm, Friday - Sunday Shift Premium: $4.00 / hour for weekend days
Use of spray equipment to apply paint and other materials
Remove grease, dirt, paint, or rust in preparation for paint application, using abrasives, solvents, or sandblasters
Follow safety protocols and wear prescribed personal protective equipment to prevent injuries
Pour paint into spray guns and adjust nozzles and paint mixes for proper paint flow and coating thickness
Sand surfaces between coats of paint or primer to remove flaws and enhance adhesion for subsequent coats
Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers and power equipment, using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths for cleaning duties
Ensure all paint related waste is properly labeled, stored and disposed of
Safely operate overhead cranes to move material to and from paint booths
Attention to detail to ensure precision in painting applications
Exposure to handling hazardous materials and working in semi-enclosed spaces
Familiarity with spray guns, sanders and other industrial painting tools
Exposure to apprenticeship programs, classroom instruction or industrial painting experience is an asset
