Join the City of Medicine Hat as a Parks Labourer
Seasonal, Full-Time

As a Parks Labourer with the City of Medicine Hat, you'll play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our beautiful parks, open spaces, cemeteries, and outdoor recreation amenities. This full-time seasonal position runs approximately from mid-April to the end of October, making it an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on work in a dynamic outdoor environment.

Your key responsibilities
Perform basic groundskeeping, horticultural, arboricultural, and facility maintenance tasks.
Operate and maintain small equipment, power tools, and hand tools.
Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with current standards.
Communicate effectively to share information accurately and in a timely manner.
Provide excellent customer service and interact positively with members of the public.
Complete other related duties as assigned by your supervisor or foreman
What you bring
A strong work ethic and ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Basic knowledge of operating and maintaining small equipment, tools, and machinery.
Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting and work outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions and terrain.
Dependability and reliability in all aspects of your work.
A positive attitude and the ability to build effective working relationships with coworkers and the public.
Basic reading, writing, and communication skills to follow verbal and written instructions.
Qualifications
Successful completion of Grade 12 or high school equivalency diploma.
At least one (1) month of hands-on experience in grounds, horticultural, arboricultural, or facility maintenance.
Possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Driver's License, with an acceptable driving record.
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
