Laboratory Analyst (Chemistry)

This position is responsible for production chemistry that maintains high quality and output in the analytical laboratory. Assaying is carried out using established methods and schedules, while ensuring analytical quality as well as the adherence to safe laboratory practices by working in accordance with the ALS Health and Safety Program.

Identify suspect samples and report to the Analytical Laboratory Manager.
Report all quality concerns to the Analytical Laboratory Manager including equipment or sample concerns. Wash labware using correct lab procedures to prevent contamination of glassware and maintain a good circulation of available glassware.
Safely dispose of sample solution waste using correct lab procedures.
Report all safety concerns to the Analytical Laboratory Manager and participate in incident investigations when required.
Other duties as assigned by the Analytical Laboratory Manager.

Basic computer skills in using software applications required.
Quality and detail oriented individual.
Ability to work independently or under supervision.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Recognized diploma or degree in Science required; Analytical Chemistry preferred.

An estimated hourly pay of $24.25 CAD at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
