Full - Time Service Technician

Based out of our hub in Delta, BC, we are a leading distributor of high-quality industrial machinery, specializing in equipment for the woodworking, structural steel, and metal fabrication industries. we provide complete lifecycle support, including professional installation, parts, and expert technical service.
As an expansion of our technical service team, we are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to provide specialized startup, maintenance, and repair support to our valued customers throughout the Lower Mainland.
As an integral member of a team dedicated to creating a cost-effective and excellent customer experience, the Field Service Technician is responsible for the startup, training, and servicing of specific lines of new and used machinery. In this role, you will provide day-to-day support and project leadership to ensure our customers’ machinery functions optimally.

Field Service Technician
Permanent Position
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Shifts: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
A reliable personal vehicle is required for this role to facilitate travel to various customer sites.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong capabilities in both mechanical systems and electrical integration
An asset for this role: Post-secondary education in electronics, electromechanics, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)

Challenging Projects: Lead installations and complex repairs on state-of-the-art CNC equipment.
Assemble and install newly acquired equipment at company or customer sites as scheduled.
Upgrade and repair machinery efficiently to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
Proactively source technical information and share knowledge with the wider Service Team.
Manage parts ordering and returns accurately to maintain lean inventory levels.
Liaise with manufacturers to resolve complex service issues, escalating to the Service Coordinator when necessary.
Customer Support
Provide customer training on machine applications, operation, mainteance, and safety protocols.
Perform diligent follow-ups to ensure all machine issues are resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
Generate accurate installation and supplementary reports following customer visits.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years as a machine equipment service technician.
Education: Post-graduate certification from a recognized technical institution.
Mechanical Precision:
You possess a deep understanding of high-speed rotating assemblies, pneumatic systems, and precision linear motion. You understand how mechanical wear impacts electrical load and vice versa.
Technical Expertise:
Comprehensive Electrical & Electronic Mastery: Well-versed in reading complex schematics and troubleshooting 3-phase power, DC control circuits, and Servo/VFD systems. You can confidently navigate PLC environments to diagnose communication or I/O issues.
Robust Mechanical Aptitude: Strong hands-on mechanical ability with a deep understanding of pneumatics and integrated machinery systems.
CNC & Automation Experience: Proven experience with CNC-controlled machinery or automated systems is highly preferred.
Previous experience with machining and fabrication is considered a significant asset.
Customer-service oriented with a calm, professional demeanor under pressure.
A reliable personal vehicle is required for this role to facilitate travel to various customer sites.
Ability to travel out of town and work flexible hours (evenings/outside normal hours) as needed.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
Physical ability to work on machinery and computers for extended periods.
