COMPTABLE H/F H/F (COMPTABILITE / FINANCE / GESTION / AUDIT/COMPTABLE)

Reporting to the Senior Corporate Accountant, The Intermediate Accountant will be responsible for Bank reconciliations, Online Payment Processing, recurring monthly Journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, examination and analysis of financial records and transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance to accounting standards of Universal Rail Systems. Prepare Monthly bank reconciliations & coordinating the resolution of outstanding items.
Prepare EFT and Wire/Cheque Requisitions as necessary.
Preparation of excise tax (GST/HST/PST) returns.
Reconcile & Maintain balance sheet account working papers monthly, with supporting schedules.
Support other departments (AR, AP, Treasury) as necessary reconciling subledgers, coordinating entries, and requesting documents from external parties (Certificates of insurance, Vendor Statements etc.)
Maintain professional communication with external contacts (Auditors, Customers, Vendors etc.)
Assist with quarterly and year end audit requests.
Understanding of different company functions, Such as AR, AP, Payroll and Finance
Strong computer skills are required with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Clear understanding of the different elements of the Financial Statements, (Revenue, Assets & Liabilities etc.) with an ability to code general ledger entries consistently and accurately.
3+ years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in a corporate environment
~ Knowledge of Accpac (Sage 300) and/or CMIC would be considered an asset.
