Accounting/Payroll Supervisor

C.K. Transportation Ltd. is a Moose Jaw based, family owned business going the extra mile for our customers since 1990. We provide hauling services across the western provinces, Ontario and the northern United States. We specialize in grain, fertilizer, liquid fertilizer, and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) hauling.
Reporting to the owners/managers, the Accountant will oversee all accounting aspects of the company.
Responsibilities include:
- Processing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, ensuring all payments are received and paid in a timely matter.
- Prepare and process payroll for all staff and Lease Operators
- Prepare and file T4s, T4As, Record of Employments, and WCB (Multi-Jurisdictional)
- Preparation and filing of GST, Source Deduction Remittances, PST, and IFTA
- Compile and prepare year-end working files and send to Accounting firm for review
- Work with management to ensure all permits are purchased as necessary
- Administrative duties of benefits package
- Maintenance of personnel records
- Maintain multiple excel spreadsheets of various information
- Provide financial analysis and advice to management
- Develop strong working relationship with the management team and fellow employees
- Represent the company with professionalism and integrity
- Main confidentiality of all records
- Answer incoming phone calls and take detailed messages
Education and Experience:
- Accounting diploma with 5+ years experience in industry
- Experience with computerized accounting programs, preferably Sage 50
- Experience with Excel
- Experience with CAFT is an asset but not necessary
