BGC Okanagan is seeking Community Support Worker to plan, implement, and evaluate group programs for children and youth with diverse abilities. Using a strengths-based approach, you will help participants achieve their goals through meaningful engagement and personal growth.
Our CYSN (Children and Youth with Support Needs) programs provide a safe, inclusive space for ages 6–18 to learn, connect, and develop essential life skills. Two casual positions are available, one of which is temporary ending September 4, 2026.

Participate in assessing, goal setting, and planning support programs for individuals with diverse needs, including developing and implementing Support Plans. Assess participants’ needs and develop short-term plans in collaboration with families.
Support participants in working towards having independence or semi-independence in the community, by assisting participants with daily life skills, social skills, and/or behavior management. Teaches and assists participants with activities such as personal hygiene, basic cooking, money management, shopping, and household safety. Facilitates physical, recreational, educational, social, and vocational activities.
Assists with the intake process to ensure assessment, program registration, and all documentation is completed prior to the service beginning for assigned programs.
Administer medication according to policy and ensure health and safety standards are maintained.
Provide ongoing feedback and support to participants and their families.
Transport participants from school sites to club sites, or out trips.

Diploma in a related human/social service field
One (1) year of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Class 4 driver’s licence or willingness to obtain as soon as possible.
Successful completion of Agency screening process including criminal record check.

Hours: Casual hours available
Rate of Pay: $25.95 per hour
