Reporting to the Associate Director of the McGill Executive Institute (MEI) and liaising with the Marketing/Sales team, the role will be responsible for problem-solving and analyzing best courses of action for the unit's marketing activities (simply defined as bringing the right learning solution to the right market, through the right channel, at the right time and at the right price). As well, the incumbent will oversee website optimization and key digital marketing, communication, and customer experience approaches.
The overarching objective will be to analyze, plan, allocate budgets, monitor and, in some cases, implement appropriate marketing practices for optimal revenue generation in Canada and abroad. The role will collaborate with other marketing and sales team members in order to recommend optimal promotion, communication, and marketing objectives. They will also liaise with external vendors and service providers to implement communication and marketing action plans. They will also be responsible for website administration, which comprises of the management of full redesign and/or iterations to optimize how people interact with our website (mobile and desktop), visuals, layout, navigation, SEO and content optimization. The candidate will also analyze relevant business/marketing data and monitoring performance and contribute to key marketing initiatives such as ongoing customer experience analysis and recommendations.
Develop marketing and communications plan with specific objectives across multiple channels (such as social media ads, display ads, search ads, and email marketing) to generate awareness and sales for Mini-MBA Courses, Public Seminars, and occasional Custom Solutions.
Oversee the execution of marketing and communications plans, leveraging support from external agencies and internal resources.
Forecast and monitor overall marketing budget in collaboration with key managers.
Provide guidance to external agencies and internal resources to produce marketing collateral in accordance with brand identity
Support marketing and sales activities by implementing integration and automation solutions to improve marketing efficiency and user experience.
Identify effectiveness and impact of current marketing initiatives with tracking and analysis, and optimize accordingly
Serve as Website Master to make design and user-experience decisions related to core/new website features
Present ideas and collaborate with MEI team to ensure the website aligns with the overall goals of MEI while meeting internal and external user needs.
Work with internal and external resources to coordinate website redesigns as needed, ensuring premium first impression and alignment with industry-best-practices
Work with developers and other relevant resources to implement new website features.
Proven experience in successfully analyzing marketing information and recommending new marketing and communications initiatives that support the strategic direction of MEI. Sound judgement and confidence in advising senior management and making independent decisions. Excellent workload management and project management skills leading to execution in a timely, organized, cost-effective, and detail-oriented manner. Willingness to participate in the improvement of key marketing/sales tools & processes. Willingness to carry out customer service support that may involve travel and occasional weekends. Demonstrated ability to plan and design websites and marketing campaigns. Up-to-date with latest trends, policies and best practices, i.e. Knowledge of French and English. McGill University is an English-language university where day-to-day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level #4 on a scale of 0-4.
