Journeyman Pipefitter - Construction

We are a privately held, employee-owned, fully integrated general contractor with design-build solutions across Western Canada. We have been serving the energy and municipal infrastructure markets since 2009.
The formation of OCL was a direct result of a few long-tenured industry professionals with entrepreneurial spirits, wanting to get back to their roots and build an organization where people matter. Formed in 2009, OCL started their first project and began building around a business model focused on “People” and “Doing the Job Right”.
We are currently recruiting for experienced Journeyman and Apprentice Pipefitters to join our team for a turnaround in Central Alberta, The successful candidates will work in a safety-first environment, working 4x10's, shifts starting at 7:00am to 5:00pm.
Shift will change during execution in May to 6/1. Day shift and night shifts available

LOA: $185/day for workers traveling from 100 km+ (Client approval required).
Travel: $50/day for those living 50–100 km away.
LOA employees must stay within 50 km (no travel allowance provided).
Journeyman
Expertly measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble and install metal, plastic and fiberglass valves, pipes, fittings
Install valves, pumps, fittings, supports and control systems
Troubleshoot and repair piping systems as required
Mentor and provide guidance to Apprentice Pipefitters
Comply with all company, client and site-specific safety policies and procedures

Apprentices
Assist journeyperson pipefitters with the installation, assembly and maintenance of piping systems
Learn and read and interpret blueprints and drawings under supervision
Measure, cut and prepare pipe and materials as directed
Assist with installing supports, valves, fittings and piping components
Follow all safety policies, procedures and job site requirements
Demonstrate a willingness to learn, take direction and develop pipefitting skills
Journeyman
Journeyperson Pipefitter Certification
Previous experience in an industrial construction environment
CSTS-2020 Fundamentals, WHMIS 2015, First Aid, Energy Safety Canada Fall Protection)
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to work with cranes and rigging-pick out the appropriate size weight ratings
Adhere to all company and worksite safety and quality processes and procedures
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
Apprentices
Registered Pipefitter Apprentice
Previous industrial or construction experience is considered an asset
Valid safety tickets (CSTS-2020 Fundamentals, WHMIS 2015, Energy Safety Canada Fall Protection, Firewatch)
Ability to perform physical job duties in an industrial environment
Basic understanding of piping systems and construction practices
Must be able to to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
