Recreation Services Attendant

The Arena Service Programs at Bill Copeland Sports Centre, Kensington Complex, and Rosemary Brown Recreation Centre are looking for individuals with strong customer service skills who are committed to working with children and families to deliver first-class skating opportunities for our community. Our staff team welcomes applications for Recreation Attendant 1 (Skate Shop & Skate Patrol) positions.
Performing a variety of duties related to arena programs and enforcing arena policies
Maintaining a fun and safe environment on the ice while patrolling/supervising public skating sessions
Providing customer service and building and maintaining relationships
Up to high school graduation or an equivalent combination of training and experience
Customer service experience and strong interpersonal communication skills
Previous experience with skate sharpening is an asset
High Five Training and First Aid with CPR-C Certification are assets
Pay Rate: $23.13 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits (The City of Burnaby is a part of the Living Wage program; Location: Bill Copeland Sports Centre, Kensington Complex, Rosemary Brown Recreation Centre
This is an auxiliary position, hours and shifts are based on operational requirements and do not provide guaranteed hours of work, which may include on-call shifts. Typical shifts will be from Monday through Sunday between the hours of 8:00 am to 9:00 pm.
