Project Overview
Government of Alberta is driving digital transformation to deliver simpler, efficient, and user-friendly services. The role is within the Digital Design and Delivery (3D) team, working on service innovation and modernization projects.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering
Build and maintain data pipelines (on-prem & cloud: Azure/AWS/GCP)
Ensure data quality, integrity, and availability
Optimize ETL processes and workflows
Manage data lakes/warehouses
Implement data governance & security practices
Data Analytics
Perform data analysis to identify trends and insights
Create dashboards and reports (Power BI or similar tools)
Conduct statistical analysis for business decisions
Use SQL for data extraction and manipulation
Present insights clearly to stakeholders
Required Skills
Strong experience in data engineering & analytics
Hands-on with SQL, ETL tools (e.g., SSIS)
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP)
Knowledge of BI tools (Power BI preferred)
Ability to work in Agile teams
