CIVIL ENGINEER – INTERMEDIATE
Our Grande Prairie office is seeking an experienced Intermediate Civil Engineer to join our Municipal Infrastructure team. This role is ideal for a professional who is eager to work on diverse and impactful projects within a supportive and dynamic team environment.
in Civil Engineering and eligibility for professional membership with APEGA
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in municipal engineering, with a strong preference for candidates with hands-on experience in construction observation and contract administration
- Working knowledge of water and wastewater distribution and collection systems
- Proficiency in computer software for modeling and spreadsheet analysis
- Proficiency in CAD design modelling software
- Demonstrated aptitude for general construction methods
- Strong business acumen and understanding of municipal infrastructure projects
- Self-motivated with leadership potential and project management skills
- Oversee and manage municipal engineering projects from inception through completion
- Perform design, construction site inspections, and contract administration duties
- Develop and review engineering design drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success
- Coordinate designs and construction inspections with multiple disciplines
- Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers and technologists

- Replacement and upgrade of underground water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure
- Rehabilitation and reconstruction of rural and municipal road systems
- Development of water treatment and distribution facilities
- Development of wastewater collection, pumping, and treatment facilities
