Warehouse Inventory Assistant

BCRTC) maintains and operates the Expo and Millennium SkyTrain Lines from our central facilities in south Burnaby. Our services connect downtown Vancouver to the cities of Burnaby, New Westminster, Coquitlam, Port Moody and Surrey. With the future expansion of both the Expo and Millennium Lines gathering pace, infrastructure renewal and new asset acquisition projects underway, this is an exciting time to join our team of over 1,200 dedicated employees, working on one of the longest fully-automated rapid transit systems in the world. Our work encompasses roles such as administration, engineering, elevator and escalator maintenance, field operations, vehicle maintenance, and wayside (station and guideway) maintenance. The Storesperson will be responsible for: providing parts, tools and equipment to users from stores; performing the inventory control functions of receiving, shipping, stock keeping, materials and tools issuing and related clerical duties.
Other responsibilities will include: goods handling, preparing documents, records maintenance, housekeeping, inventory control, while ensuring adherence to stores related policies and procedures.
Shift work is required.
Provincial certification in Industrial Warehousing, Automotive Parts preferred;
Two or three years related industrial stores experience with working knowledge of inventory controls;
Ability to operate a forklift;
Must be able to identify common electro-mechanical parts and general tools;
Must be capable of using a computer for inventory control; Wage: $45.81 per hour
All new employees will be subject to a 6-week trainee rate at 75% of the hourly rate with the remainder of the first year at 90% of the hourly rate.
