SPEECH & LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST ASSISTANT/

1 (One) Temp position is effective January 14 2026 and ending on or about January 13 2027.
~2 (Two) Term positions are effective January 5 2026 and ending on or about June 26 2026.

Please Note: Travel from site to site will be required.
In compliance with Board policies and procedures responsible for two main areas of responsibility for any student with a communication difficulty involving speaking listening reading and/or writing. These areas are: consultation and liaison and assessment.
To consult with regular and special education teachers Student Services staff educational assistants administrative staff and parents regarding speech and language programs resources accommodations and modifications for any student with a communication difficulty involving speaking listening reading and/or writing.
To liaise with and refer to community services and agencies such as Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) and hospitals.
To assist in the interpretation of medical information and assessment reports from outside agencies as they relate to Speech-Language Pathology.
To provide formal and informal assessment and observation of students with communication difficulties involving speaking listening reading and/or writing.
To assist preschool children with special needs to make the transition from preschool programs to school programs.
To work with teachers and administration to assess students needs with respect to SEA funding.
To carry out other duties as may be assigned by the Chief of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology Services Assistant Coordinators of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology Services Principals of Student Services Student Services Coordinators and/or the Superintendent of Student Services.
A Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
Effective verbal and written communication interpersonal analytical and computer skills are required.
